There is growing concern among UK businesses over traveller safety and operational visibility as international business travel continues to rise.
Our study of 500 travel managers showed 24% cite employee safety as a key concern when employees travel overseas.
And although the research found managed transport services are twice as trusted as ride-hailing services, only 42% of those surveyed rely on the latter internationally. This is often because approved or managed services are not consistently available across borders.
Safety and compliance issues for businesses
Ashley Seed, Chief Commercial Officer at CMAC Group, said: “As business travel continues to grow, organisations are realising that domestic ground transport programmes aren’t fit for international purpose.
“Fragmented booking methods and inconsistent supplier standards are creating safety and compliance headaches for businesses operating internationally.”
To help businesses address these challenges, CMAC Group has launched an expanded international business travel proposition. It combines global supplier coverage, traveller tracking, consolidated billing and 24/7/365 human support through a single managed platform.
CMAC Group now coordinates access to more than seven million connected vehicles globally through one platform, one dashboard and one invoice, following supplier expansion across the globe, including in key business hubs across Europe, North America, Southeast Asia, Middle East and beyond.
How travel managers are dealing with challenges
Find out more about how travel managers are dealing with the challenges of international travel in the first of our three-part White Paper series, Out of control: Why ground transport breaks at international scale.

Part two will launch in June and will explore the power of convenience-first behaviour at international scale and why policy-led responses consistently fail.
In July, part 3 will cover what a connected, international-ready ground transport model looks like, and how leading businesses are already putting it into practice.
